The International Van of the Year Award, is the most prestigious annual title in the light commercial vehicle industry globally. Its sister title, the international Pick-up Award (IPUA), is announced and presented every second year, following a group test programme.
Since establishment, the main criterion for the nomination and the election of any van as International Van of the Year remains, is its contribution to high standards of efficiency, safety, with respect to environment and the sustainability of the transport of light goods by street and road.
For IPUA, marks are awarded based on powertrain efficiencies, load volume and capability, driver and passenger comfort and safety aspects, as well as low total cost of operation from a business point of view
